THE DISCIPLINE TO PREPARE

  • Infantry Platoon Leader in Combat

Presentation highlights instinct and reaction that comes from relentless, focused pre-mission training enacted the first time Racioppi was under enemy fire.  Preventing complacency while understanding status quo does not always apply, denotes one must be ready to act in the face of uncertainty, fear, lack of control, and emotion.

  • Special Forces Selection

Presentation builds upon Infantry Platoon Leader in Combat.  Highlights team preparation, individual focus and analytical discipline to decipher what one person can and cannot control when preparing to enter an unknown, formidable challenge. Strengthens the message of resiliency, with focus on the "big picture" results vs. being overtaken by emotion and uncontrollable details.

  • Special Forces Contingency Planning

Presentation on the importance of planning for contingencies while understanding the organizational and individual responses to unplanned but possible events.  Highlights the importance of critical though, planning in detail, and the precise execution of the basics and fundamentals.  Detailed preparation for potential scenarios and unknowns allows leaders to triage unfolding events and respond appropriately with available resources.
